- Abstract
At a symposium discussing the results of a study of the ambulatory health care delivery to elderly people, four papers were presented addressing different aspects of the question: characteristics and attitudes toward the elderly of providers of care, providers' attitudes toward aspects of drug prescribing, factors associated with the management of hypertension in the elderly, and characteristics and health-care-seelcing behavior of elderly patients. Discussants who have been engaged in similar or related work in these areas were asked to share their findings, concepts, and approaches, while commenting on the presentation of findings. The findings of this pilot study have implications for professionals involved in service, education, and research in gerontology.
