- Abstract
In the autumns of 2007 and 2008 the Young Birders Group of Nos Oiseaux organised ringing camps in the Danube delta in Romania. In addition to the migration studies it provided a platform for exchanges between young people from around the world. It allowed a detailed phenology to be obtained for 16 common birds at this site (European Robin Erithacus rubecula, Thrush Nightingale Luscinia luscinia, Common Redstart Phoenicurus phoenicurus, European Blackbird Turdus merula, Song Thrush Turdus philomelos, Lesser Whitethroat Sylvia curruca, Garden Warbler Sylvia borin, Blackcap Sylvia atricapilla, Chiffchaff Phylloscopus collybita, Willow Warbler Ph. trochilus, Goldcrest Regulus regulus, Spotted Flycatcher Muscicapa striata, Red-breasted Flycatcher Ficedula parva, Blue Tit Cyanistes caeruleus, Great Tit Parus major, and Red-backed Shrike Lanius collurio). Some general tendencies were observed : In the case of species wintering south of the Sahara the adults migrated before their young, while for species wintering around the Mediterranean no differences could be detected. In addition we provide information regarding the migration of sub-species of Chiffchaff Phyloscopus collybita and Willow Warbler Ph. Trochilus.
