- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigated if the gene expression LOT1 (ZAC1/PLAGL1) is responsible for the manifestation of Silver-Russell syndrome (SRS). SRS is a heterogeneous disease associated with intrauterine and postnatal growth retardation with a characteristic triangular face and a prominent forehead. The study reveals that despite the presence of LOT1 (ZAC1/PLAGL1) in the growth of imprinted genes, the expression has nothing to do with the etiology of SRS.
