- Abstract
The ORBITA-2 trial evaluated the effectiveness of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) compared to a placebo in patients with stable angina. The results showed that the PCI group had lower angina symptom scores and improvements in secondary endpoints. However, some patients in the placebo group experienced adverse events. The study on invasive coronary function testing found that it led to improved outcomes for patients with angina. The article on sham-controlled trials argues that they are necessary to accurately assess the effectiveness of medical devices in interventional cardiology.
