- Abstract
The authors explore the pro-inflammatory role of platelets in hypertension-mediated end-organ damage. They state that platelets contribute to inflammation through vesicular release of inflammatory mediators. They discuss a report about platelet-promoted inflammation and cardiac pathology in a murine model of hypertension induced angiotensin II infusion with a sustained increase in systolic blood pressure.
