- Title
Splicing: Catalytic nulls keep busy.
- Authors
Zlotorynski, Eytan
- Abstract
The article offers information on a study about the aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases (aaRSs), which catalyzes the fusion of amino acids to tRNAs for protein synthesis. The study describes the alternative splice variants of the aaRS genes and discovered a set of catalytically inactive aaRSs that have several biological functions. Information about the potential functions of catalytically null aaRSs is presented.
