- Abstract
The author comments on the case of a 49-year-old female who met Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV (DSM-IV) criteria for schizoaffective disorder. The woman has recurrent episodes of unilateral auditory hallucinations and her family had a history of schizophrenia. According to the author, the case of the woman shows that the lateralisation of auditory verbal hallucinations in psychosis without structural brain lesions and hearing loss can be a symptom with remarkable stability.
