The article reports that according to Nuffield-funded research from Manchester Metropolitan University and The Centre for Education and Youth, catch-up education for disadvantaged pupils must not be a one-off intervention. It mentions that post-lockdown due to COVID-19 catch-up teaching for students who were starting secondary school, should focus especially on disadvantaged children with a track record of absence.
