- Abstract
Dear Editor, Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic incurable disease of apocrine gland-bearing skin characterized by double comedones, painful nodules and scarring most commonly in the axillae, inguinal and inframammary folds. Other treatments included aromatherapy (14%, I n i = 3) nutritional supplements (14%, I n i = 3), herbal ointments (14%, I n i = 3) and Chinese medicines (10%, I n i = 2). One patient believed that compared with traditional therapies, CAMs had no potential side-effects and another patient was a trained complementary therapist.
