INCLUSÃO INTRAERITROCITÁRIA EM ESGREGAÇO SANGUÍNEO DE EQUINO.

- Abstract
Presença de inclusões intraeritrocitárias em sangue periférico de um equino, macho, adulto. O animal foi encaminhado apresentando febre e inapetência e ao hemograma observou-se anemia e discreta leucocitose por neutrofilia. A amostra foi coletada a partir de sangue de ponta de orelha, coletada no momento em que o animal apresentava febre. O sangue foi coletado por gotejamento, e disposto sobre lâmina e realizado esfregaço, corado em panótico rápido, e observado em microscopia óptica, sob o aumento de 100x. As inclusões intraeritrocitárias, observadas na análise do esfregaço sanguíneo, com morfologia compatível, associada a história clínica do animal, sugerem o diagnóstico de theileriose. A theileriose é uma doença causada pelo protozoário Theileria equi, transmitida por carrapatos. Esta piroplasmose acomete equinos, zebras, mulas, burros entre outros. É uma doença difundida mundialmente e no Brasil acomete muitos animais, podendo levar inclusive a óbito. Entre os sinais clínicos estão febre, anemia, inapetência, icterícia, hemoglobinúria, intolerância ao exercício e em casos graves, a depender do estado geral do animal, óbito. Animais que se recuperam desta comorbidade, podem se tornar portadores assintomáticos, servindo como reservatório, transmitindo o protozoário a outros carrapatos, mantendo assim o ciclo de vida do hemoparasita. O diagnóstico molecular, deve ser utilizado sempre que possível, pois aumenta a sensibilidade e especificidade do mesmo, no entanto, é possível observar a estrutura do hemoparasita intraeritrocitário em esfregaço sanguíneo corado, assim como demostrado na imagem.
