- Abstract
In this study, the effects of combination of probiotic and enzyme supplement that is commercially available in the market on the feed efficiency and fattening performance of young bulls were investigated. A total of 20 Brown Swiss young bulls at 8-10 and 12-14 months of ages were allocated into the two groups called control and probiotic - enzyme groups. 20 g/day of plus enzyme combination was fed each animal. The young bulls (at 8-10 months) in control and probiotic initial fattening weight 173.2±14.19 kg and 173.3±14.19 kg; daily weight 0.87±0.04 kg and 0.93±0.04 kg; final fattening weight 331.6±12.12 kg and 343.2±12.12 kg; total weight gain 158.4±6.65 kg and 170.0±6.65 kg and amount of feed intake per kg weight gain 6.8±0.29 kg and 6.4±0.29 kg respectively. The young bulls (at 12-14 months) in control and probiotic initial fattening weight 249.7±14.19 kg and 249.1±14.19 kg; daily weight 0.91±0.04 kg and 0.94±0.04 kg; final fattening weight 416.0±12.12 kg and 419.4±12.12 kg; total weight gain 166.3±6.65 kg and 170.3±6.65 kg and amount of feed intake per kg weight gain 7.3±0.29 kg and 7.2±0.29 kg respectively.
