- Abstract
The article discusses the treatment options for patients with small solitary hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) that are unsuitable for local ablation therapy (LAT). The study compares the outcomes of chemoembolization and radiotherapy (RT) in these cases. The results show that there is no significant difference in local tumor progression-free survival and overall progression-free survival between LAT and RT. The authors suggest that both chemoembolization and RT are equally effective options for treating single small HCCs that are unsuitable for LAT. However, further research is needed to compare the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of different treatment modalities.
