- Abstract
The article focuses on whether technological innovations raises or lowers employment across manufacturing industries in the U.S. It states that the effect of technological innovations on labor employment varies across the manufacturing sector, wherein, majority of industries hire more workers during technological progress. It argues that technological innovations create more jobs both in the short and long term, despite concerns that new technology replaces workers.
