- Abstract
The article presents an investigation of binary hydrogen-tetrahydrofuran (H2-THF) clathrate hydrate formation kinetics. The formation kinetics were investigated using a pressure decay method with various initial temperatures, pressures, and particle sizes. Formation rate was found to be directly proportional with pressures and inversely proportional with temperatures and particle sizes. The formation mechanisms were analyzed with a hydrogen delocalization model and a proposed hydrogen hydrate phase diffusion (HHPD) model.
