- Abstract
In mobile sensor networks (MSN), most of the existing routing technique considers mobility prediction of sink rather than sensor nodes. Also during clustering, the node criteria such as speed and link connectivity have not been considered. In this paper, we propose a cluster based routing protocol with mobility prediction of sensor nodes. Initially the cluster heads are formed based on the node speed and link stability. The cluster head monitors the movements of its members and maintain a routing table towards the sink. Using a mobility prediction technique, the cluster head predicts the movements of its members based on which the optimum cluster head for joining can be selected. If there is a possibility of cluster head movement, then an alternate cluster head with less speed and higher link stability is selected. By simulation results, we show that the proposed technique minimizes the energy consumption and improves throughput.
