- Abstract
The article focuses on the distinction and therapy options for the most common histotype non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It mentions that squamous cell carcinoma (SqCC) and adenocarcinoma (LADC) two main subtypes of NSCLC wherein determination of the subtypes is important to optimize the patient response to Avastin ® and Alimta®. Moreover, immunohistochemistry (IHC) was shown to be a valuable adjunct to hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining.
