- Abstract
Introduction: In 2019, Colombian public universities had a suspension of activities that lasted more than four months and affected their academic life and emotional life, for this reason it is proposed through the analysis of Burnout Syndrome to analyze the level of anxiety in these young people. university students. Objectives: We sought to validate the stress levels through the dimensions of academic attrition in the students of these higher education centers. Methods: We review the studies carried out on the subject, in which it was evidenced that they focused on measuring the dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and lack of personal fulfillment at work, which are proposed in the 1981 study by Maslach and Jackson. This article takes up this methodology and presents the results of 276 applied surveys, which were examined by factor analysis on the items considered from the Maslach-Burnout survey. Results: The results allow to validate the presence of the syndrome in the students and the effectiveness of the questionnaire, showing a higher level of exhaustion compared to the other dimensions considered in the syndrome. Conclusions: These results allow decisions to be made in the future about possible suspensions of the academic load that significantly affect young people and impact their mental health.
