- Abstract
Community workers are essential to the functioning of society, as they provide services to vulnerable populations. However, these workers experience greater amounts of both distress and wellness than their counterparts in the public and private sectors. To better understand this reality, focus groups were conducted with community workers from Québec (n = 20). Various demands and resources at work that affect these workers' psychological health were identified. The results contribute to a better understanding of the situation of community workers, and fuel discussion about the improvement of their work conditions.
