- Title
THE EFFECT OF ALDRIN ON WIREWORM DAMAGE AND BLACK SCURF IN POTATOES.
- Authors

- Abstract
This article investigates the impact of the pesticide aldrin on wireworm damage and black scurf in potatoes. Aldrin dust and liquid when applied properly on the flat followed by cultivation give excellent control, far superior to that obtained by ridge application. The work of Grainger and Clark (1963) has found an increase in the number of black scurf sclerotia when both fungus and eelworm were present in the disease complex potato sickness. As the sites selected for this wireworm work were free from potato root eelworm, a similar inter-relationship between black scurf and wireworm damage would show some damage.
