- Abstract
IN RESPONSE: Dr. Norris' comment underscores some important considerations about the historical context of the epidemic of vaping-associated pulmonary injury. Cannabis oil may be a causative agent in its own right, because cannabis extracts share physical properties with other known agents of lipoid pneumonia. Updates to the first case series of patients with EVALI confirm that those who initially denied cannabis use subsequently endorsed use of or tested positive for cannabis on follow-up questioning ([3]).
