- Abstract
The article discusses the diagnosis of idiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis (IPH) preceding systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in a four-year-old girl. The girl was suffering from anaemia and respiratory distress initially and cough, haemoptysis, dyspnoea and fatigue lasted for one month. After all the medical investigations the baby was responding to Oral prednisolone 2 mg/kg for 3 days, daily inhaled beclomethasone (15 shots/d). It is concluded that children with IPH might sometimes develop connective tissue disease many years after the onset of IPH.
