Commentary: Multiple Pains as Functional Pain Syndromes.
- Authors
von Baeyer, Carl L.; Champion, G. David
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the study of B. Kröner-Herwig and colleagues on multiple pains among children and adolescents. They are critical to the findings of the study, which according to them raise many different issues including the reason why multiple pains occur, the role of gender in the prevalence of pain, and the possibility that chronic pain can predict chronic pains in adults. Also presented are several studies regarding functional or idiopathic pain syndromes.
