- Abstract
The article reports on the adoption and implementation of healthcare information technology (HIT) in healthcare organizations in the U.S. It discusses the economic and clinical advantages of HIT, the factors that prevent physicians to adopt and implement HIT and ways for HIT implementation. It explores how physicians and other healthcare professionals can engage in innovation. It examines the significance of HIT in delivering the quality of patient-centered medical home model.
