- Abstract
The article focuses on the implementation of the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 (AEDPA). Topics discussed include history of federal Habeas Corpus, legal action or writ by means of which detainees can seek relief from unlawful imprisonment, the exoneration data compiled by Professor Brandon Garrett revealing that appellate courts are failing to correct wrongful convictions and the wrongful conviction of businessman Alfred Trenkler and Boumediene v. Bush.
