- Authors
Shenoy, Ashok M.
- Abstract
The author discusses a study which investigated the molecular profile of the tobacco related oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and its link it with the marker cyclin D1 expression. The author states that abnormal expression of cyclin D1 is an important factor in the tumorgenesis of human malignancies including head and neck cancer. The study revealed that higher frequency of cyclin D1 overexpression is seen in older patients with advanced tumor stage and lymph node metastasis.
