- Abstract
A Deoni male calf was presented with history of anorexia, geophagia, weakness and fever since last three days. Clinical examination revealed presence of fever, tachycardia, severe weakness, papery white conjunctival mucous membrane, swollen lymph nodes and tick infestation. Hematological analysis showed marked anemia, granulocytic leukocytosis and presence of intra-erythrocytic stages of Theileria annulata and Anaplasma marginale in blood smear. Whole blood transfusion was performed along with administration of Inj. Buparvaquone, Inj. Oxytetracycline and Inj. Vitamin B complex parenterally and hematinics orally. The affected calf showed gradual clinical improvement from second day of treatment and onwards. Significant clinical recovery was observed on sixth day.
