- Abstract
This article, published in the journal "Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology," discusses a study that aimed to predict adverse intrapartum outcomes in pregnancies at 35-37 weeks. The study evaluated the performance of biometric and Doppler parameters, along with maternal characteristics, in predicting emergency operative delivery (EOD) and adverse maternal outcomes (AMO). The results showed that estimated fetal weight (EFW) centile and the Pulsatility Index (PI) of the Umbilical Artery (UA) were independent predictors of EOD, while EFW centile, UA PI, and the Cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) were independent predictors of AMO. The combination of maternal demographic characteristics and sonographic variables showed promise in predicting these adverse outcomes.
