- Abstract
The article offers the authors' view on taxpayers and tax spenders in the U.S. They provide an analysis on the relationship between them who pay taxes and receive federally funded benefits respectively as well as their involvement in the deficit explosion in the country. They note concerns over the demand for federal benefits with zero tax prices despite being funded by shortages. They also point out a refutable hypotheses involving the distribution of tax liability as well as trends in government spending, debt and transfer payments in connection with changes in such dispersion.
