- Authors

- Abstract
The article presents a study designed to investigate the effects of age, material, sex, socioeconomic status, scholastic level, and mother's literacy on weight conservation abilities of Lebanese elementary school children in Beirut. The data were collected through individual tape-recorded interviews of 132 children and were treated by the analysis of variance and chi square. The results indicated that for 7-to-9-year-old children, it is easier to conserve weight on Plasticine rather than on rubber band or on alcohol in a thermometer. Age was the only other variable which yield a significant difference.
