- Abstract
The article discusses the impact semantic web technology has on scientific research. The semantic web is a shared framework that allows data to be analyzed, defined and transmitted across different applications and different user groups. Methods used to aid in the contextual integration of the semantic web include the application of controlled vocabulary and taxonomies. Semantic web technology allows scientific researchers to access more accurate data on the world wide web through such methods as semantic tagging, trending topics and semantic reporting of content intelligence.
