- Abstract
The article provides information on catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS) or Asherson's syndrome. It says that CAPS patients have common aspects including clinical evidence of multiple organ involvement in a very short time, the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, and histopathological evidence of multiple small vessel occlusions. According to the author, patients usually develop intra-abdominal thrombotic complications affecting adrenal glands and kidneys.
