- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the scope of Mexican bureaucracy that reflects current interpretations of the national political aspirations or the so-called goals of the Revolution. Expanding bureaucracies are a major fact of the 20th century; the extent of political control over the bureaucracy takes on greater importance than at any other time in history. In terms of its contribution to the gross national product, the entrepreneurial role of the government of Mexico does not appear to be great. In terms of direct investment, the government's contribution runs about five per cent of the annual gross national product, while the private sector contributes about nine per cent. Mexico has had an impressive economic growth rate of around 5.2 per cent, second only to Japan and Germany. Due to increasing growth in the population, however, the per capita growth rate is only 2.2 per cent. Mexico's per capita economic growth rate is not cause for complacency in a nation committed to modernization.
