- Abstract
Highly sensitive hydrogen sensor based on palladium (Pd) nano-rings supported by titania nanotubes (TNTs) substrate has been investigated at room temperature. The TNTs substrate was prepared in various mass fraction of water contents in electrolyte from 5 to 20 %. The water content in the electrolyte increased the tube-diameter and the interstice among tubes. Pd nano-rings were deposited on TNTs substrates using DC magnetron sputtering. The sensor exhibited excellent performance at hydrogen concentrations from 0.05 to 1.6 %. We researched the detection performance of hydrogen sensors made by different TNTs substrates. When the water content was 17.5 wt%, the sensor showed a high sensitivity of 88 % at 1.6 % hydrogen concentration.
