- Authors
Gurwitz, David; Shomron, Noam
- Abstract
The article discusses the potential utility of ChatGPT, a generative pretrained transformer tool, in the field of drug development. It highlights the challenges faced by biomedical researchers in filtering out false or irrelevant information when using AI tools like ChatGPT. The article suggests that incorporating reliable biomedical data resources, such as those provided by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), could improve the value of GPT-based AI tools for drug development research. The strengths and limitations of ChatGPT in providing information relevant to drug development are also discussed. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for developers to improve GPT-based tools and for the pharmaceutical R&D sector to identify optimal ways of utilizing them.
