- Abstract
An essay is presented on Walter Benjamin's work titled "Theses on the Philosophy of History" and the Murals of Diego Rivera. The author states the mutual implication of history and revolution in the Theses and in the artistic practice of Diego Rivera. The author relates the complexness of mutual determination of past and present (history and politics) as the purpose of the essay. Furthermore, Rivera's works strongly contributes to the formation of state and created the notion of revolution.
