- Abstract
A eletroterapia é utilizada na medicina equina como recurso fisioterapêutico de reabilitação, mas faltam estudos sobre seu uso para o desempenho esportivo dessa espécie. Dessa forma, objetivou-se avaliar o condicionamento cardiovascular de éguas Mangalarga Marchador (MM) em treinamento físico associado à eletroestimulação de corpo inteiro (ECI). Foram utilizadas 12 éguas MM, destreinadas, com idade entre 3 e 4 anos, escore corporal 3 (escala de 0 a 5) e peso médio de 350 kg. Os animais foram sorteados para os grupos GA e GB, os quais foram submetidos ao mesmo protocolo de condicionamento físico por 42 dias, sendo que no GB houve inclusão de sessões de 30 min de eletroestimulação (Equery R6, 30 Hz) antes do trabalho montado. Para a avaliação do desempenho físico foram realizados quatro testes de marcha nos dias zero, 10, 28 e 42 do período de condicionamento. Os testes consistiram em 5 min ao passo, seguidos de etapas de 10 min de marcha entre 12 e 14 km/h, que encerraram quando a frequência cardíaca (FC) atingia 150 bpm ou quando o tempo de marcha alcançava 70 min. Foram avaliados o tempo de marcha alcançado durante os testes e a FC foi aferida por frequencímetro cardíaco Polar H10 durante o exercício, a cada 10 min, e por estetoscópio Littmann Master Classic nos momentos basal, 10, 30 e 60 minutos após o teste. Amostras sanguíneas foram obtidas nos momentos basal, fim, e aos 10 e 30 min de recuperação para mensuração do lactato plasmático pelo método bicromático endpoint. Os dados foram submetidos à ANOVA de três fatores (grupos x testes de marcha x momentos de avaliação) para amostras repetidas (animal), seguidas do teste SNK (p = 0,05). Não houve diferença (p > 0,05) entre GA e GB nos tempos de marcha. Apenas GB aumentou (p0,05) entre os grupos, mas ao comparar momentos de coleta, GB aumentou o lactato plasmático (p < 0,05) apenas no final do teste 4, e o GA aumentou no final dos testes 3 e 4 (p < 0,05). A ECI pode ter proporcionado maior ganho de condicionamento devido à mobilização de grande parte da musculatura de forma simultânea, provocando adaptações cardiovasculares semelhantes às proporcionadas pelo exercício físico. Os resultados corroboram a literatura, em que equinos tratados com eletroestimulação na região lombossacra aumentaram a densidade de mitocôndrias nas fibras musculares tipo I e II após 8 semanas de tratamento. Concluiu-se que a ECI (30 Hz), associada ao treinamento físico, proporcionou maior ganho de condicionamento cardiovascular quando comparada à realização de somente treinamento físico.
