- Abstract
The article summarizes the topics discussed at an economic symposium sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City from August 25 to 27, 2005. Description of the approach of Alan Greenspan, chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System, to monetary policy is given. Comparison between risk-management approach and a flexible application of a policy rule is discussed. The article also offers information on the economic developments that occurred during the Greenspan era.
