- Abstract
The article focuses on an experiment done to analyze interviewer ratings of respondent interest of sample surveys. Variables affecting an interviewer's rating or a respondent's interest are presented, including the interviewer's previous training, the scale used to rate the respondent, the location and time of the interview, and the sample selected. Details related to these factors and the effects they have on an interview are presented. A chart is presented showing respondent interest ratings measured by sixteen interviewers on an experimental survey.
