- Abstract
The article presents information related to warehouse distribution of steel products. The author presents an overview of the steel manufacturing process and the development of more efficient, automated production lines during World War II. A discussion is presented about methods of ensuring an adequate stock of raw steel and the logistical difficulties faced when purchasing tonnage lots. Details related to the delivery and distribution of finished steel products are presented. The author relates an account of the steel industry's response when Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941.
