- Abstract
There is a significant difference between the basement anti floating design method specified in the national standard Technical standard for building enginering against uplift: JGJ 476—2019 [1] and the method specified in the Guangdong Provincial standard Design code for building foundation: DBJ 15-31—2016 [2]. The former requires that the overall and zone anti floating calculation be met, while the latter requires that the local anti floating calculation can be achieved by checking the bearing capacity of structural components while meeting the overall anti floating requirements, so as to meet the anti floating design. To study the applicability of the design methods provided by Guangdong Province standards, Midas Gen software was used to model and analyze various basement situations, study the internal force and deformation of structural components during anti floating design, and verify their bearing capacity accordingly. From multiple sets of comparative data, it can be seen that this design method has certain limitations. Only when it meets the conditions of having a thicker base plate, fewer basement floors, and fewer pure basement column spans, and when larger structural components are selected to improve the overall stiffness and bearing capacity of the basement, can this method have good applicability and economy.
