Phosphorylation and Dark Reversion of Phytochrome B.

- Abstract
The article "Phosphorylation and Dark Reversion of Phytochrome B" discusses the role of phosphorylation in the activity of phytochrome B (phyB), the main light receptor responsible for the shade avoidance response in mature plants. The study found that phosphorylation of phyB increases its rate of reversion from the active form to the inactive form. The researchers tested this by mutating the phosphorylation site on phyB and observed changes in its signaling activity and various other functions. This study provides evidence that phosphorylation plays a role in phyB function and specifically links Ser-86 phosphorylation with phyB dark reversion.
