- Abstract
This research was carried out to determine the relationship of favoritism on school administration with organizational trust and organizational commitment according to the perceptions of teachers. The population of research that was conducted by using relational screening model consists of 862 teachers working in public primary, secondary and high schools in the central district of Sinop province in the academic year of 2016- 2017. The sample of research consists of 500 teachers detected through stratified sampling method and working in public primary, secondary and high schools in the central district of Sinop province in the academic year of 2016-2017. “The Scale of Favoritism on School Administration”, “Organizational Trust Scale” and “Organizational Commitment Scale” were used as the data collecting tools. The results obtained in the research are as follows: It can be seen that teachers’ perceptions relating to favoritism on school administration is at low level. Teachers have perceived favoritism on school administration in planning the most, next in coordination, then in organizing and in evaluation respectively. According to gender variable, there are significant differences between teachers’ perceptions about whether school administrators display favoritism in evaluation practices. According to teachers’ perceptions, their organizational trust is at the level of “sometimes”. When analyzed the sub dimensions of organizational trust; teachers mostly trust in colleagues and administrators while they sometimes trust in shareholders. It can be understood that teachers’ organizational commitment is at moderate level. It has been stated that teachers have showed organizational commitment on compliance the most, next on internalization and then on identification respectively. In this research, it has been found that there is a moderate, negative and significant relationship between teachers’ perceptions relating to favoritism on school administration with teachers’ organizational commitment and trust. As long as teachers’ perceptions relating to favoritism on school administration increases, their organizational commitment and trust decreases. Besides, it has been determined that teachers’ perception relating to favoritism on school administration is a significant predictor of teachers’ organizational commitment and organization trust.
