- Authors

- Abstract
This study focuses on poeticism in the linguistic structures of Ahmad Al-Adwani's, a celebrated modern poet in Kuweait, in the ligh of the poetic functions highlighted by Jakobson when pointing out the basic ordering patterns used in the articulation behavior - selection and composition, which are extensively detailed in the study of semantics, one of three Arabic rehetorical studies. This aspect of Al-Adwani poetry has not received due consideration, despite all the studies done about it. Hence, it is hoped that this study will succeed in bridging this gap and revealing significant aspects of Al-Adwani's poeticism. The study analyzes a number of structural mechanisms in his poetry, such as the methods of interrogation, evocativeness and various forms of repetition; as well as the art of compensating for early shortages, poetic analogies and rhetorical introduction. By so doing, the study seeks to point to the stylistic devices used in his poerty and reveal his methods in dealing with the various linguistic structures available in the language.
