- Abstract
This article presents a case report of severe reaction to tropical woods. Tropical woods can cause contact dermatitis and wood turners have been altered to this. Erythema multiforme like reactions are a rare manifestation of allergic contact sensitivity, reported from allergens such as primula, terpens, an epoxy agent and tropical woods including rosewood. A 36-year-old carpenter was admitted with a five day history of blisters and target lesions on the hands and forearms. Later, the patient mentioned that his hobby was wood turning and two days prior to the onset of the eruption, he had been turning a piece of rosewood at home.
