- Abstract
A commentary on the article "An APOE Haplotype Associated to Decreased E4 Expression Increases the Risk of Late Onset Alzheimer's Disease" is presented. The authors explained the origin of apolipoprotein E and its association with Alzheimer's disease. They considered phylogenetic studies which explore the evolutionary associations between and the emergence of mutations in pathogens. They described three APOE promoter polymorphisms.
