- Abstract
A report of the use of organizational development strategy in the structural intervention of a Pennsylvania school system. The system established an Institute For Advanced Administrative Development. The purpose of this institute was to provide managerial retraining to both principals and district administrators. Exposure to organizational development experience was intended to increase administrators awareness of themselves, to enhance their ability to experience other people, and, to improve their capacity to communicate. The program attempted to affect about one‐third of the principals in the system. For this reason the implementation of the program required considerable preplanning and temporary reallocation of staff. The organizational effects of this reallocation are discussed.
