- Abstract
The article discusses osteoarthritis (OA) and the contribution of various aetiopathogenic phenotypes to the joint tissue-derived clinical manifestations of the disease. Particular focus is given to the three subsets of OA based on its aetiological and molecular biological aspects. Also discussed are extra-articular risk factors, role of biomarkers in the early diagnosis of OA and the correlation between radiological phenotypes and distinct clinical manifestations of OA.
