- Abstract
Response to the correspondence: a randomized, open, controlled trial of tretinoin 0.05% cream vs. low-dose oral isotretinoin for the treatment of field cancerization The correspondence from Dr. Misitzis and colleagues is an opportunity to discuss actinic keratosis (AK) and skin field cancerization as a model (by proxy) to study the chemoprevention of skin cancer.[1] The generalization of results from AK counts to skin cancer should be discouraged, despite the fact that skin field cancerization can be a suitable exploratory model of skin carcinogenesis (therapy or physiopathology).
