- Abstract
The article discusses a case study of a 75-year old woman who was presented with an asymptomatic, round to oval erythematous lesion on her left thenar eminence. It says that skin biopsy helped in the diagnosis of circumscribed palmar hypokeratosis, and also discusses several hypothesis related to the causes of palmar hypokeratosis like recurrent traumas and papillomavirus infection. It also discusses a study which says that a keratinization disorder may cause the disease.
