- Abstract
The parasites, among which stand out the parasitic infections, are more common among the poor population. In front of many known methodologies in making the parasitological examination of feces for identification of cysts, protozoa, eggs and helminth larvae of the intestinal parasites, and the emergence of new techniques, the present work aims at evaluating the agreement degree of a new test (Parasitokit®) based in a methodology recognized efficiency to the diagnosis of protozoa and helminths, compared to another method traditionally used in Clinical Analysis (Hoffman, Pons and Janner - HPJ). The Parasitokit® technique has as an advantage the dynamism in the making and organization with respect to the smaller space used for the preparation and reading exam; HPJ method requires a larger volume of glassware on the bench for making and reading tests. Four hundred samples were evaluated in twelve months and the data analysis took place by means of descriptive statistics. The Parasitokit® method demonstrates easy handling, low cost and demand in the physical space, presenting a negligible degree of non-compliance, because agreement occurred in 99.5% compared to the HPJ method that uses the cup of sedimentation
